01.Introduction
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Right 2 Operate website and your participation in Right 2 Operate’s advocacy initiatives, including petitions, volunteering, and donations. Right 2 Operate is based in Alabama (“Right 2 Operate,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By using this website, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.
02.Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to sign a petition, register as a volunteer, or make a donation through this website.
By using the website, you confirm that you can form a binding agreement and that the information you provide is accurate and your own.
03.Acceptable Use
You may use the website to learn about our work and take part in our advocacy initiatives. You agree not to:
- submit false or misleading information, or another person’s information;
- interfere with the website’s security or operation, or try to access systems you are not authorized to use;
- use automated tools to scrape content or submit forms;
- post or send unlawful, abusive, defamatory, or infringing material;
- use the website for commercial solicitation unrelated to our mission.
04.Petitions & Advocacy
Our petitions are hosted on third-party platforms, currently Change.org. When you sign, that platform’s own terms and privacy policy also apply.
Signatures may be shared with platforms, policymakers, or partner organizations as part of our advocacy.
Signing a petition does not make you a member of Right 2 Operate or create any obligation beyond the petition itself.
05.Volunteering
You can register interest in volunteering through our sign-up form, currently hosted on Google Forms. Registering does not guarantee a volunteer role. All volunteers are required to sign a volunteer agreement, including a code of conduct.
Volunteers are not employees or agents of Right 2 Operate and may not speak on our behalf unless we authorize it in writing.
06.Donations
Donations and pledges are collected through payment processing tools and direct deposit. Payment details are handled by those providers, not stored on this website.
- One-time or recurring: one-time and recurring donation options are offered.
- Refunds: once donations are made, they are non-refundable.
- Tax status: donations are not tax-deductible. However, if made by a business, they may qualify as a business expense. Consult your tax professional for details.
Recurring donations are covered by separate donation terms, presented before you commit.
07.Intellectual Property
The Right 2 Operate name, logo, roofline mark, website design, and content are owned by or licensed to Right 2 Operate. You may share our public advocacy materials for non-commercial purposes with attribution, but you may not alter our logo or imply our endorsement without written permission.
08.Third-Party Links
The website links to external services such as Change.org, Google Forms, and social media platforms such as LinkedIn and Facebook. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content, availability, or privacy practices.
09.Disclaimers
The website and its content are provided “as is” for general information. Content about policies, platforms, and regulations is not legal, tax, or financial advice.
We cannot guarantee any particular advocacy outcome, and we do not guarantee the website will always be available or error-free.
10.Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Right 2 Operate is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the website.
11.Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless, including our subsidiaries, affiliates, and all of our respective officers, agents, partners, and employees, from and against any loss, damage, liability, claim, or demand, including reasonable attorneys’ fees and expenses, made by any third party due to or arising out of:
- information or content you submit to us;
- your use of the website;
- your breach of these Terms;
- any breach of your representations and warranties set forth in these Terms;
- your violation of the rights of a third party, including but not limited to intellectual property rights; or
- any overt harmful act toward any other user of the website.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, we reserve the right, at your expense, to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter for which you are required to indemnify us, and you agree to cooperate, at your expense, with our defense of such claims. We will use reasonable efforts to notify you of any such claim, action, or proceeding that is subject to this indemnification upon becoming aware of it.
12.Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Continued use of the website after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
